  • sugar - 4 c
  • smashed strawberries - 2 c
  • Jel-Ease Sure-Jell - 1 pkg

How to make strawberry freezer jam:

Wash, stem and crush fruit thoroughly. Place in 4-quart kettle. Gradually stir sugar into fruit and let stand 10 minutes.

In a separate small saucepan, mix pectin with 3/4 cup water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and boil hard for 1 minute. Immediately stir pectin mixture into fruit and continue stirring for 3 minutes. Fill jars; cover and let sit at room temperature for 24 hours. Store jam in freezer. After thawing, jam will keep in the refrigerator about 3 weeks.
