  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • sour cream - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • lemon extract - 1/4 tsp
  • broken walnuts - 1 c
  • strawberry jam - 1 c
  • eggs plus 2 additional egg whites - 2 item

How to make strawberry bread:

Cream butter, sugar, vanilla and lemon extract until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Sift together flour, salt, tartar and soda. Add jam and sour cream (mixed) alternately with dry ingredients, beating until well combined. Stir in nuts. Bake at 350° in two greased loaf pans for 50 to 55 minutes.
