Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • sifted flour
  • oleo - 1 c
  • brown sugar, firmly packed
  • warm water - 1 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • dark Karo syrup - 1 c
  • corn oil - 3 Tbsp
  • melted oleo - 1 item
  • pecans, chopped

How to make sticky buns:

Filling and Topping:2/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped1 c. dark Karo syrup1 c. oleo2 tsp. cinnamon melted oleo Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and corn oil. Cool to lukewarm. Measure water into warm bowl; sprinkle in yeast and stir until dissolved. Blend in lukewarm milk mixture and eggs. Add 3 cups flour and beat until smooth. Add enough flour to make easily handled dough. Turn out dough on floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in oiled bowl; oil top and cover for 90 minutes to rise.

Blend brown sugar and 1 cup oleo. Spread mixture equally in bottom of 2 (13 x 9 x 2-inch) baking pans. Sprinkle with nuts. When dough has risen, punch down and sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll up jelly roll fashion. Cut each roll into 16 slices. Arrange slices, cut side up, on pans leaving space around each slice. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 30 minutes. Bake in 400° oven for 20 minutes. Pour half the Karo over each pan. Bake an additional 5 minutes. Let stand 1 minute before removing from pan.
