Stewed okra and tomatoes
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- medium green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- to 2 cloves garlic - 1 item
- large onion - 1 item
- tomatoes, peeled and chopped - 1 2
- slice bacon, cut up - 1 item
How to make stewed okra and tomatoes:
Fry bacon in heavy skillet until brown. Remove from skillet. Saute onion and pepper in bacon fat. Add bacon and remaining ingredients. Cover for 30 to 40 minutes. May remove cover during the last few minutes of cooking, if desired. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Low protein, Side dish, Vegetables.
