- baking powder
- shortening - 1/4 c
- sifted flour - 1/4 c
- diced onions - 2 item
- stewing hen, cut up - 1 item
How to make stewed chicken and dumplings:
Dumplings:1 c. flour1/2 tsp. salt1 1/2 tsp. baking powder2 Tbsp. shortening1/2 c. milk On the day before serving: Place the chicken pieces, onions, salt and enough water to cover into the Dutch oven. Cover pot and simmer for 3 to 4 hours. ChRecipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Poultry.
