sugar - 1 c
eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
brown sugar - 1/2 c
water - 2 Tbsp
soda - 1 tsp
sifted flour - 3 c
butter or oleo - 1 c
walnut meats - 1 item
chocolate mint wafers 9 oz - 1 pkg

How to make starlight mint surprise cookies:

Cream butter and sugars. Blend in eggs, water and vanilla. Beat well. Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Enclose a mint wafer in about 1 tablespoon of chilled dough. Place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Top each with a walnut half. Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
