Squash relish
Ingredients/Components
- squash, chopped - 10 c
- green peppers or 2 red and 2 green peppers - 4 item
- large onions - 4 item
- salt - 1/3 c
- vinegar
- sugar
- nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- turmeric - 1 tsp
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
How to make squash relish:
Grind the first 3 ingredients; mix with salt. Refrigerate overnight. Drain and rinse twice. Add the remaining ingredients to the first preparation; cook for 30 minutes, stirring often. Put in hot jars and seal.Recipe categories: Squash, Appetizers, Spreads.
