Squash casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- chopped green onions - 1/2 c
- chopped bell pepper - 1/2 c
- sharp cheese, grated - 1 c
- yellow squash, chopped, cooked and drained - 2 lb
- can sliced water chestnuts optional - 1 oz
- dash of ground red pepper or hot sauce - 1 item
- bread or cracker crumbs, divided - 2 c
How to make squash casserole:
Mix together squash, cheese, margarine, onions, pepper, water chestnuts, mayonnaise, sugar, salt, egg, red pepper and 1 cup crumbs. Place in buttered casserole dish and sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Squash, Side dish, Casseroles.
