Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- pepper - 1 tsp
- carrots, chopped - 2 item
- large onion - 1 item
- celery stalks, chopped - 2 item
- meaty ham bone - 1 item
- split green peas, rinsed and drained - 1 lb
How to make split pea soup:
Bring water to a boil. Add peas, salt, pepper, butter, celery, onion, carrots and ham bone. Cover; cook slowly for 2 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Serves 6.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Soups & stews, 3 steps or less.
