Spinach souffle
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- egg whites - 3 item
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- egg yolks, beaten - 3 item
- grated sharp cheese - 1/2 c
- cooked spinach, chopped fine - 3/4 c
How to make spinach souffle:
Preheat oven to 350°. Make cream sauce of butter, flour and milk. Add sauce to spinach and cheese, and beaten egg yolks; mix. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold into mixture. Pour in buttered casserole. Set in hot water. Bake 30 minutes. Let stand a few minutes after removing from oven. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Low calorie, Side dish, Vegetables.
