  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 3/4 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • uncooked oatmeal - 1 c

How to make spicy oatmeal cookies:

Preheat oven to 375°. In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat all ingredients until well mixed. Drop by spoonful 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 16 to 20 cookies.
