Spiced pear jam
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 c
- ground cloves - 1/4 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- chopped or coarsely ground peeled pears 5 1/2 lb - 8 c
How to make spiced pear jam:
Combine all ingredients in a large heavy pot. Simmer uncovered for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until thickened. Stir frequently. Remove from heat and skim off foam. Pour hot jam into hot jars leaving 1/4-inch space. Adjust caps. Process for 10 minutes in boiling water. Yield: 6 half pints.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Jams and preserves, Pears.
