Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 1/2 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
- allspice - 1/4 tsp
- applesauce
How to make spiced applesauce bread:
In mixing bowl combine applesauce, sugar, oil, egg and milk. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, the first 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and allspice. Stir into applesauce mixture. Beat well. Fold in the 1/2 cup pecans; turn into well greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.Combine the 1/4 cup pecans, brown sugar and remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; sprinkle over batter.
Bake in moderate 350° oven for one hour or until done. Remove from pan; cool on rack. Will keep moist when wrapped in foil and kept in refrigerator.
