Spiced apple butter
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 8 c
- cinnamon - 4 tsp
- thick apple pulp - 16 c
- vinegar red cider - 3/4 c
How to make spiced apple butter:
Core and slice apples but do not peel. Add only enough water to cook apples until soft. Press through a sieve and measure. Combine all ingredients. Cook until mixture remains in a smooth mass (when a small amount is cooled), about 1 1/2 hours. During cooking time, stir frequently to prevent burning. Pour into hot sterilized pint jars and seal.
