Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • diced green pepper - 1/3 c
  • prepared mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
  • Minute rice
  • finely chopped onion - 1/2 c

How to make spanish style rice:

Combine tomato sauce, water, onion, green pepper, butter, salt, sugar, mustard and pepper in saucepan. Cover and bring to a full boil. Stir in rice. Remove from heat; cover and let stand 5 minutes. Stir with a fork. Makes 3 1/2 cups or 4 servings.

Good for perking up a dinner like pork chops, sausage, meat loaf, even hot dogs or hamburgers.
