Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- can tomatoes
- cups water - 2 item
- slices bacon, fried and crumbled - 6 item
- bacon drippings - 3 Tbsp
- cup white rice - 1 item
- cup catsup - 1/4 item
- cup green pepper, chopped - 1/4 item
How to make spanish rice:
In bacon drippings, cook rice, onion and green pepper until onion is tender. Add bacon and other ingredients. Cover and simmer over low heat about 30 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid absorbed. Serve 6.Note: For quick cooking rice, add 2 1/2 cups Minute rice after all other ingredients are added. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.
