Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt
- water - 2 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 item
- celery, diced - 1/2 c
- onion, finely chopped - 1/2 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 c
- uncooked rice - 1 c
How to make spanish rice:
Heat oil. Add rice; cook, stirring over medium heat until golden. Add onion and cook 1 minute. Add tomato sauce, water, seasonings, green pepper and celery. Cover; cook over low heat for 25 minutes or longer until rice is tender. Stir occasionally.One can shrimp, drained, can be added.
