Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- soy sauce - 1 tsp
- clove garlic - 1 item
- medium onion - 1 item
- tomato paste - 1/4 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
- rice - 1 c
- celery - 1/2 c
- slices bacon - 6 item
- hamburger ground beef - 1 lb
- tomatoes 1 lb - 2 c
How to make spanish rice:
Cook bacon until crisp. Remove. Brown ground beef in bacon drippings along with onion, garlic, green pepper and celery; drain. Add other ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir. Cover and simmer over low heat about 30 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Garnish with bacon bits.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Side dish.
