Ingredients/Components

  • brown rice
  • oil - 1 tsp
  • bell pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
  • onions, chopped - 1/4 c
  • garlic clove, sliced - 1 item
  • chicken bouillon - 2 tsp
  • Spanish rice seasoning - 1/2 tsp
  • cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 3 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • can chopped tomatoes with chiles - 1 item

How to make spanish rice:

Brown rice in oil . When rice starts to brown, stir in bell pepper, onion and garlic. Meanwhile in a bowl, put the chicken bouillon, Spanish rice seasoning, cumin seed, garlic powder and pepper. Put water and salt in microwave to boil. Put Ro-Tel and add all spices in boiling water; pour over rice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.

Note: Brown rice may take longer for water to evaporate.
