Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 2 c
  • chopped onion
  • chopped celery
  • garlic clove - 1 item
  • tomato puree - 1 c
  • strips bacon - 5 item
  • raw rice - 3/4 c
  • tomatoes, drained

How to make spanish rice:

Cook rice in 2 cups water with salt until fluffy. Fry bacon, add vegetables and cook until tender. Mix with rice, place in casserole dish and dot with butter. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes. Yields 8 servings.
