- eggs - 4 item
- melted butter - 1 item
- spinach - 2 lb
- salt and white pepper - 1 item
- bunch green onions - 1 item
- pastry sheets filo - 12 item
- Feta cheese, mashed - 2 c
How to make spanakopita:
Wash spinach and drain thoroughly. Chop finely with onions. Beat eggs well. Add with cheese to spinach in a large bowl. Salt and pepper to taste.Place 6 pastry sheets on 15 x 11-inch buttered pan, brushing each sheet with melted butter. Spread on spinach mixture, then place 6 additional sheets on top, brushing each with melted butter. Overlap edges to make rope-like crust. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Cut in squares and serve hot.
