  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1/2 lb
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • basil - 1 tsp
  • Italian seasoning - 1 tsp
  • carrots - 2 item
  • onion, diced - 1 item
  • tomato paste - 12 oz
  • green pepper - 1 item
  • fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1 item
  • celery stalks - 3 item
  • stewed tomatoes - 20 oz

How to make spaghetti sauce:

Serves 8. Recipe can be doubled, divided into smaller containers and frozen until needed.

Brown ground beef with onion; drain fat. In a blender, mix tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, carrots, celery sticks and green pepper. Add blender mixture to browned beef and onion. Swirl small amount of water in blender to capture remainder and add to mixture. Add sugar, oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, bay leaf and mushrooms. Simmer for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
