Spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- ground beef - 1 lb
- shortening - 2 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- paprika - 1 tsp
- marjoram - 1/4 tsp
- celery salt optional - 1/8 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- finely chopped onion - 1 c
- cans tomato sauce - 3 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- garlic salt optional - 1/2 tsp
- basil - 1/2 tsp
- parsley flakes - 1/4 tsp
- dry mustard - 1/4 tsp
- pkg - 1 lb
How to make spaghetti sauce:
Heat skillet over medium-high heat. Place ground beef, chopped onion and shortening in hot skillet. Cook, stirring with a fork, until meat is broken up and has lost its red color. Pour off excess drippings.Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, seasonings and Worcestershire sauce. Cover with top to skillet. Lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain spaghetti. Top with spaghetti sauce. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
