Ingredients/Components

  • brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 2 3
  • Worcestershire sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano
  • cans tomato paste - 4 oz
  • medium onion, chopped - 1/2 item
  • can mushrooms - 1 oz
  • cayenne pepper - 1/4 1/2
  • thyme - 1/2 tsp
  • dried parsley - 2 Tbsp
  • cooking sherry
  • garlic powder or 1/2 medium clove, crushed - 1 Tbsp
  • dried celery - 1 Tbsp

How to make spaghetti sauce:

Brown beef and onion in a 6-quart heavy saucepan. When almost done, add mushrooms, including juice. Add all other ingredients (add water to the consistency you prefer). Cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir occasionally. Serve over spaghetti or other noodles. Freezes well.
