Spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 3
- Worcestershire sauce - 3 Tbsp
- chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- ground beef - 1 lb
- oregano
- cans tomato paste - 4 oz
- medium onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- can mushrooms - 1 oz
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 1/2
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- dried parsley - 2 Tbsp
- cooking sherry
- garlic powder or 1/2 medium clove, crushed - 1 Tbsp
- dried celery - 1 Tbsp
How to make spaghetti sauce:
Brown beef and onion in a 6-quart heavy saucepan. When almost done, add mushrooms, including juice. Add all other ingredients (add water to the consistency you prefer). Cover and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir occasionally. Serve over spaghetti or other noodles. Freezes well.Recipe categories: Sauces, Condiments, etc., Italian.
