Spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- garlic powder - 2 cloves
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- ground beef - 1/2 1
- oregano - 1/4 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- Italian seasoning - 1/2 tsp
- parsley - 2 Tbsp
- finely chopped onion - 1/2 c
- dried basil leaves
- fennel seed - 1/2 tsp
- can tomatoes or 1 qt - 1 (28
How to make spaghetti sauce:
Brown first three ingredients over medium heat until well browned, 20 minutes. Drain off fat. Add spices. Stir well. Add tomato paste, crushed tomatoes and water, mashing tomatoes with a wooden spoon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer covered and stir occasionally until thick, about 1 1/2 hours.Recipe categories: Sauces, Condiments, etc., Italian.
