Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
  • chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 4 oz
  • Italian sausage, casing removed - 1 lb
  • thin spaghetti, broken in half - 8 oz

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti as directed on box. Drain. Beat eggs and cheese. Add warm drained spaghetti and toss. In a 10-inch greased pie pan, pour mixture to form a crust. Set aside. Saute peppers and onions until tender. Add sour cream. Pour into spaghetti crust. Cook sausage well, breaking it with a spoon. Drain fat. Add water, tomato paste to sausage and mix well. Heat to boil and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Pour over pie. Cover with foil and bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Remove foil. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese over top. Bake 5 minutes until cheese melts. Let set 5 minutes. Cut into serving portions.

Ground beef may be substituted.
