Spaghetti pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- ground beef
- cottage cheese - 2 c
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- Mozzarella cheese - 4 oz
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces - 8 oz
- jar thick spaghetti sauce - 1 oz
How to make spaghetti pie:
Cook spaghetti in boiling water; drain. Place the spaghetti in a greased baking dish. Stir in margarine, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and beaten egg. Saute ground beef, onion and green pepper in a large skillet until meat is browned; drain. Stir into the meat the spaghetti sauce, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Spread the cottage cheese over the spaghetti. Top with the meat mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven. Sprinkle Mozzarella over the top; bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese melts. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, One Dish meal.
