Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • can tomatoes, cut up - 1 1/2
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c
  • Parmesan cheese, grated - 1/3 c
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • cottage cheese, drained - 1 c
  • ground beef or 1 lb - 1 lb

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti according to directions on package. Drain (approximately 3 1/2 cups). Stir in margarine. Add eggs and Parmesan cheese. Press spaghetti mixture in buttered 10-inch pie plate, forming crust.

In skillet, cook beef or sausage, chopped onion and chopped pepper until vegetables are tender and meat is brown. Drain. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, seasonings. Heat through. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti crust. Top with meat mixture.

Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes. Top with Mozzarella cheese. Bake 5 minutes more until cheese melts. Serves 6.
