Ingredients/Components
- ground beef - 1 lb
- minced onion - 1/2 c
- can tomatoes, chopped - 1 1/2
- Minute rice - 3/4 c
- chopped green pepper - 3 Tbsp
- sliced stuffed olives - 1/2 c
- chili powder
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
How to make southwestern skillet:
In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion. Drain fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, uncooked rice, green pepper, olives, chili powder, garlic salt, salt and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top with cheese. Cover and heat for about 3 minutes or until cheese melts.Recipe categories: Healthy, Main dish, One Dish meal.
