Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • melted margarine - 1/4 c
  • baking powder - 1 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • cornmeal - 1 c
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
  • chopped chilies - 1/4 c

How to make southwestern cornbread:

Beat egg slightly and add milk and margarine. Add remaining ingredients and stir only until moist. Spread mixture in a greased 8-inch square pan. Bake at 425° for 20 minutes or until done.
