Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- stick butter - 1 item
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- yellow squash - 3 lb
- cracker meal or bread crumbs - 1/2 c
How to make southern yellow squash casserole:
Wash and cut up squash. Boil until tender, then drain thoroughly and mash. Add all ingredients, except 1/2 of butter to the squash. Melt the remaining half stick of butter. Pour squash mixture into baking dish, then spread melted butter over top and sprinkle with extra cracker meal or bread crumbs.
