Southern sweet potato casserole
Ingredients/Components
- cooked sweet potatoes - 3 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- sugar - 3/4 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- brown sugar
- flour - 1/2 c
- butter, melted - 1/3 c
- chopped pecans - 3/4 c
How to make southern sweet potato casserole:
Topping:1 c. brown sugar1/2 c. flour1/3 c. butter, melted3/4 c. chopped pecans Preheat oven to 350°. Puree sweet potatoes in a food processor with a metal blade. In a large bowl, combine sugar, milk, eggs, salt and vanilla extract. Add potatoes to mixture and stir to combine. Pour into a greased 2-quart casserole.To prepare topping, combine brown sugar, butter, flour and nuts. Spread topping over potato mixture. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Serves 8.
