- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- melted butter - 3 Tbsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- eggs, well beaten - 2 item
- cornmeal - 3/4 c
How to make southern spoon bread:
Combine cornmeal, salt and butter and add to boiling water slowly, beating until smooth over heat. Remove from heat; add baking powder to eggs and combine with milk. Add to cornmeal mixture, stirring well. Turn into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan and bake 40 minutes at 350°.Recipe categories: Breads, Side dish, Southern u.s..
