Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla extract - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • heavy cream - 3/4 c
  • dark corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • pecans
  • butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
  • 9-inch frozen or prepared pie shell - 1 item

How to make southern pecan pie:

Preheat oven to 375°. Beat eggs and gradually mix in sugar, butter and salt. Whip cream gently for 1 minute and stir into egg mixture with corn syrup. Add vanilla and 1 1/4 cups pecans. Spoon into pie shell and bake 40 to 50 minutes. Decorate top with remaining pecans.
