- large fryer - 1 item
- cream or milk - 1 c
- water - 2 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- flour - 2 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- bacon fat - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- butter - 1 Tbsp
How to make southern fried chicken:
Cut chicken into frying pieces. Add salt and pepper to chicken. Set aside for 15 minutes. Mix cream, water and eggs. Beat. Pour cream mixture over chicken and allow to soak for 1 hour. Add paprika to flour and then roll chicken in flour. Melt bacon fat, shortening and butter in skillet.
