  • cooking oil - 2 3
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • paprika to taste - 1 item
  • milk or buttermilk - 1 c
  • flour - 3/4 c
  • margarine - 1/4 lb

How to make southern fried chicken:

Quarter chicken. Combine beaten eggs with milk or with buttermilk. Dip chicken into milk mixture; flour thoroughly and season. Cook chicken until golden brown. Do not overcrowd; better to use 2 frying pans or a deep fryer set at 365°. Cook 13 to 15 minutes in a deep fryer.
