Sourdough pancakes
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- nonfat dry milk - 1/4 c
- starter - 4 c
- baking soda or baking powder* - 1 tsp
How to make sourdough pancakes:
Put out starter the night before. Beat together the starter, egg, oil and dry milk. In small bowl, combine the salt, baking powder or soda and sugar; blend until smooth. Sprinkle over batter; fold in gently. Let batter rest for a few minutes. The baking soda or powder will make a foaming action in the batter. Fry dollar-size pancakes on a hot griddle that is lightly greased.*The baking powder will give a tangy flavor over baking soda.
