Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 1 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- unsifted flour - 4 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- starter - 1 c
How to make sourdough french bread:
Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Combine remaining ingredients; mix all together. Knead lightly on floured board. Place in a greased bowl to double in bulk, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Divide in 2 shaped loaves, about 8 x 12-inch. Let rise again. Brush top of loaves with water. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, European, French.
