Sourdough bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- flour - 6 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- warm water - 1 c
- instant potatoes - 3 Tbsp
How to make sourdough bread:
Mix the first 3 ingredients with starter. Mix well and let sit out 8 to 12 hours or overnight.Next, mix one cup starter, sugar, flour (use 4 cups white flour and 2 cups whole wheat flour for whole wheat bread), oil and water. Mix well and put in large greased bowl. Cover lightly with greased wax paper and let rise 8 to 12 hours or overnight.
Next, knead, using a little more flour, until smooth and no longer sticky. Form into 3 loaves and place in 3 greased loaf pans. Let rise 8 to 12 hours, covering lightly with greased wax paper. Then bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Slice with bread knife when cool. Wrap well and store in the refrigerator.
