Sourdough biscuits
Ingredients/Components
- yeast - 2 pkg
- oil - 2/3 c
- flour - 4 c
- warm water - 1 c
- buttermilk room temperature - 4 c
- flour more, if needed - 5 c
- salt - 4 tsp
- baking powder - 8 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
How to make sourdough biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and buttermilk and mix well (be sure oil is well blended). Add the 4 cups of flour and mix well. Then add 5 cups of flour, salt, baking powder and soda and mix well. Dough is ready to bake. Seal in airtight bowl and refrigerate. To bake, pinch off amount needed and bake about 20 minutes at 350°.
