Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 lb
- sugar
- eggs, separated - 6 item
- sifted cake flour - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- small carton sour cream - 1 item
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- lemon extract - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
- Add beaten egg yolks
- ReaLemon juice - 3 Tbsp
How to make sour cream pound cake:
Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Add beaten egg yolks. Combine flour, salt and baking powder and add alternately with sour cream and soda. Add lemon and vanilla. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in steeple pan at 275° for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 300° and bake approximately 55 more minutes.Glaze:1/2 c. butter3 Tbsp. ReaLemon juice1/2 box powdered sugar (2 c.)
