Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 6 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- plain flour - 3 c
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- sour cream or 1 small carton - 1 c
How to make sour cream pound cake:
Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add soda to sour cream. Add cream and flour to creamed mixture alternating. Add vanilla and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly. Bake in tube pan at 300° for 1 1/2 hours. Do not open oven while baking. Ice with favorite icing or leave plain.Recipe categories: Desserts, Eggs/dairy, Cakes.
