Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- egg whites, beaten stiff - 6 item
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- all-purpose flour - 3 c
- almond flavoring - 1 tsp
- egg yolks, well beaten - 6 item
How to make sour cream pound cake:
Cream sugar and shortening; beat in egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour cream. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Beat vigorously; add flavoring. Pour into 10-inch tube pan, greased and sprinkled with white sugar. Bake in 300° oven for 1 1/2 hours.Recipe categories: Desserts, Eggs/dairy, Cakes.
