Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • egg whites, beaten stiff - 6 item
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour - 3 c
  • almond flavoring - 1 tsp
  • egg yolks, well beaten - 6 item

How to make sour cream pound cake:

Cream sugar and shortening; beat in egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour cream. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Beat vigorously; add flavoring. Pour into 10-inch tube pan, greased and sprinkled with white sugar. Bake in 300° oven for 1 1/2 hours.
