  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • dairy sour cream - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • sifted flour
  • softened butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • melted butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
  • Add sour cream and vanilla; blend well

How to make sour cream coffee cake:

Beat egg until frothy; beat in sugar and butter or margarine; cream until fluffy. Add sour cream and vanilla; blend well. Sift dry ingredients together; add to sour cream mixture. Blend thoroughly. Pour into greased 8-inch square pan. Sprinkle brown sugar topping evenly over batter. Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Serve warm. Makes 6 to 8 servings.Brown Sugar Topping:1/2 c. brown sugar2 Tbsp. flour1/2 tsp. cinnamon2 Tbsp. softened butter or margarine Mix together until crumbly.
