  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • semi-sweet chocolate - 1 sq
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cold water - 1 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • powdered sugar
  • unsweetened chocolate - 1/2 sq
  • light cream - 2 c
  • plus 2 Tbsp
  • 8 oz - 1 c

How to make sour cream chocolate cake:

Icing:2 c. powdered sugar2 c. light cream1 sq. semi-sweet chocolate1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate2 Tbsp. butter pinch of salt1 tsp. vanilla In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, sugar and sour cream. Sift dry ingredients and add to egg mixture alternately with water. Add vanilla. Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool.

In a heavy saucepan, bring first six icing ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until thickened, about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour over cake (icing will set as it cools).
