Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- semi-sweet chocolate - 1 sq
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cold water - 1 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- powdered sugar
- unsweetened chocolate - 1/2 sq
- light cream - 2 c
- plus 2 Tbsp
- 8 oz - 1 c
How to make sour cream chocolate cake:
Icing:2 c. powdered sugar2 c. light cream1 sq. semi-sweet chocolate1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate2 Tbsp. butter pinch of salt1 tsp. vanilla In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, sugar and sour cream. Sift dry ingredients and add to egg mixture alternately with water. Add vanilla. Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool.In a heavy saucepan, bring first six icing ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until thickened, about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour over cake (icing will set as it cools).
