  • sour cream - 1/2 1
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • confectioners sugar - 1 lb
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • pecans - 1 item
  • In large pan bring first 3 ingredients to boil; remove from heat

How to make sour cream chocolate cake:

Sift together flour, sugar, soda and salt. In large pan bring first 3 ingredients to boil; remove from heat. Add eggs and sour cream (mix by hand, do not use mixer). Combine and gradually add flour mixture. Mix well. Bake in greased 9 x 13-inch pan at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes. Frost while still warm.Frosting:1 stick margarine1/4 c. cocoa5 to 6 Tbsp. milk1 lb. confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla pecans Bring to boil margarine, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat and mix in confectioners sugar and vanilla. Pour over cake. Garnish with pecans.
