Soft gingerbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 3 tsp
- boiling water - 2 c
- molasses - 1 c
- plain flour
- white sugar - 1/3 c
- well beaten eggs - 2 item
- soda, dissolved in 1 c - 2 tsp
- Then add eggs
- each: ginger, cinnamon and cloves - 1 tsp
How to make soft gingerbread:
Mix the first 4 ingredients together and add soda and flour. Then add eggs. Bake in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350° for 30 minutes or until springs back like a cake.Gingerbread Sauce:2/3 c. brown sugar1/3 c. white sugar3 tsp. cornstarch1/8 tsp. salt2 c. boiling water4 Tbsp. butter1 tsp. vanilla Boil until thickened.
