Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • flour all-purpose

How to make snickerdoodles:

Heat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, beat 1 1/2 cups sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well. Lightly spoon flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt together; mix well.

In a small bowl, combine the 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
