  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • cream of tartar - 2 tsp

How to make snickerdoodles:

Mix thoroughly shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll cookies in the cinnamon sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 minutes at 375°.
