Snickerdoodle cookies



  • soft oleo - 1 c
  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp

How to make snickerdoodle cookies:

Mix together oleo, sugar, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Stir into creamed mixture. Chill overnight. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Dip tops of balls in plain white sugar or colored sugars for holidays or with cinnamon added to white sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes (or less) in 360° to 375° oven until lightly browned. These cookies puff up at first then flatten out round with crinkled tops. Some time ago, these cookies won a Blue Ribbon at the Morgan County Fair.
